We’re delighted to announce that our CEO, Kara Mesiano, won Gold in the Business Woman of the Year category at last night’s SME Hertfordshire Business Awards!
Hosted by Watford Chamber of Conscience at Tewinbury Farm in Hertfordshire, the ceremony brought together businesses from across the county to celebrate their achievements. Kara’s award is a wonderful recognition of her leadership and dedication to Watford’s business community.
Under Kara’s leadership, Watford Town Centre BID secured a third five-year term with an outstanding 92% vote in favour. She then helped lead the successful ballot to establish Watford Clarendon BID, extending the support and opportunities available to businesses across another key part of our town.
These achievements reflect Kara’s ambition for Watford and her ability to bring people together. From listening to independent retailers and helping businesses access grants, to strengthening partnerships that support our night-time economy, she combines a clear vision with a personal, approachable style.
In his statement supporting Kara’s award nomination, Simon Plumb, Chairman of Watford BID Ltd and Centre Director of Harlequin Watford, wrote:
“Kara is an incredibly smart, self-confident, and capable woman, but she is also humble and incredibly collaborative. She is somehow able to walk that almost impossible line of canvassing views and including all stakeholders but also setting the aspiration and driving the business forward.
