Watford Town Centre BID are delighted to welcome Lavanya Gamsani to the BID board of directors. Lavanya is a Franchisee and manages Watford Town Centre’s two Subway outlets on King Street and The Parade.
“I’m Lavanya Gamsani, and I’m honoured to join the Watford Town Centre BID Board.
Originally from India, I moved to the UK in the early 2000s. I was raised by my single mother, a dedicated doctor who instilled in me the values of hard work, education, and independence. By the age of 21, I had graduated in Electronics and Communication Engineering and began my career in IT, working with major organisations like Pitney Bowes, Santander and Mastercard.
In 2013, alongside my husband and I took a bold step into the world of franchising, opening our first Subway store. It was a completely new journey for us—one that required balancing my full-time IT job while managing the day-to-day operations of the store. It was a challenging few years, but incredibly rewarding. Over time, we grew the business to four stores, thanks to the support of a fantastic team and a loyal customer base.
Creating a positive experience for both customers and staff has always been my primary focus. We’ve worked hard to maintain high standards, offer a welcoming atmosphere, and nurture strong community relationships. Staff retention is something I value deeply, and many of our team members have been with us for years, reflecting the supportive and respectful environment we’ve strived to create.
In 2023, I ventured into a new industry by launching Radfield Home Care Watford & Borehamwood. I was motivated by the growing need for quality, compassionate care—especially for families like mine, where cultural norms can make accepting outside help more challenging. Our goal is to build trust within the community by offering a service that treats every client with the utmost dignity and kindness.
Community involvement has always been important to me. Over the years, we’ve supported various charities, including Age UK, Rennie Grove Peace Hospice, Carers in Herts and the Rotary Club. Whether it’s helping at local fundraising events, donating to causes, or simply making space for charity boxes in our stores, I believe in giving back in ways—big and small—that can make a difference.
Being a mother of two teenagers has taught me a lot about resilience, patience, and balance. Juggling family and business isn’t always easy, but it’s helped me grow both personally and professionally.
Joining the Watford BID Board feels like the natural next step. I’m excited to collaborate with fellow members to support local businesses and contribute to the town’s ongoing development.
Thank you for the warm welcome—I look forward to learning, sharing ideas, and helping create a better future for Watford.” – Lavanya Gamsani
