Watford Town Centre BID has partnered with KP Waste as our recommended waste contractor, giving BID levy paying businesses access to exclusive, highly competitive waste collection rates.
The partnership has been introduced to help businesses manage and potentially reduce their waste collection costs, while also providing support as businesses adapt to the requirements of Simpler Recycling.
Helping your business prepare for Simpler Recycling
Changes to workplace recycling rules in England mean businesses are required to separate key recyclable materials and food waste from their non-recyclable waste.
For businesses with 10 or more full-time equivalent (FTE) employees, these requirements have applied since 31 March 2025.
Smaller businesses classed as micro-firms – those with fewer than 10 FTE employees across the business – have until 31 March 2027 to comply.
From 31 March 2027, plastic films and flexible plastic packaging will also be included within recycling collections.
The requirements cover core recyclable materials including:
- Paper and card
- Plastic
- Metal
- Glass
- Food waste
Businesses need to make appropriate arrangements with their waste collector to ensure these waste streams are handled in line with the regulations.

Through our new partnership, KP Waste is offering Watford Town Centre BID levy-paying businesses preferential rates that are exclusive to BID members.
