Welcome to Saqhib Ali and his team, with their brilliant new charity shop open on 15 Clarendon Road – pop in for a visit!

Madad UK (MUK) officially opened its first store in Watford on 14 June 2025. From concept to official opening, we did this in just under three months – we are staffed entirely by volunteers. It was officially opened by Peter Taylor , Elected Mayor of Watford.
We sell a variety of pre-loved furniture, clothing, bric a brac and antiques. Funds raised go to grants of up to £50 towards food, utilities and clothing for the vulnerable and disadvantaged.
As a cost of living-crisis “hub” we intend working with local partners to signpost for housing, financial literacy and other advice relevant to those struggling during the cost of living crisis.
We are working with the Charity Shop Gift Card from The Charity Retail Association to offer BNPL style finance in up to 12 instalments without interest, fees or charges. Through ZeroPA- a social impact micro-finance lender. They will finance purchases of £50-£150 towards purchases of clothing, white goods, furniture, and small electricals in up to 12 instalments under 1 year.
Madad UK (MUK) was originally set up by my father in 1982 as a Muslim charity in Bedford, now helping people of all faiths and none.
Do pop along to our store to say hello or drop me a line to saqhib@madad.co.uk, www.charityshoploan.co.uk, 01923 939124
