Against the dramatic backdrop of beautiful St Mary’s church (making its Fringe venue debut) this remarkable fundraising concert – Spirit of Ukraine is a true gala evening, your chance to be entertained and dress in style. Black tie if the mood takes you! This is a royally fabulous night, held in the presence of The Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire Robert Voss CBE CStJ, his Majesty’s Representative and hosted by Watford’s favourite son – Luther Blissett OBE.
For one night only some incredible stars have given their time to perform alongside Ukrainian singing sensation Victory Ann, who starred in the Voice and dazzles with everything from arias to rock opera.
Special guests include the brilliant N. London Military Wives and renowned violinist Andrew Hubbard.
We are also thrilled to announce that the fabulous Bernice Clark “Berniceya” has joined the cast. Grand finalist for both XFactor and Eurovision, Bernice has sung at the highest level as an operatic soprano as well as wowing audiences with a repertoire from jazz to pop perfection.
They are accompanied by the talented Ukrainian musicians from Watford’s own Sunflower Social Club; rising star 13 year old Sonja, award-winning soloist of the Odessa Opera House Nadia Sychuk and the breathtakingly brilliant concert pianist Oksana.
You will be thrilled and moved as our amazing cast take you on an emotional and entertaining musical journey featuring much loved musical theatre songs from Phantom of the Opera, Les Mis and others as well as famous operatic favourites such as Nessun Dorma and modern classics from Adele to Beyonce and Elton John.
All music especially chosen to share the story of the powerful spirit of Ukraine and its people.
