Be a Watford ‘VIP for the Day’ – and get to star at the ‘Big Reveal’ of the official MONOPOLY: Watford Edition game!
The makers of the brand new bespoke game, Winning Moves UK, are looking for a member of the Watford public to be a star guest at the launch, alongside Mr. Monopoly, who is heading north from his Mayfair HQ to be at the big bash.
Both will get to play the very first game to roll off the presses. The VIP winner – that’s Very Important Player, Monopoly player – will be formally presented with that first game (signed), plus a second game unopened.
The launch takes place later this year and will be at ONE of the 35 “secret” Watford landmarks and organisations that will feature on the board.
The mechanic for entering the search to be a VIP is say ‘Why I Love Watford’ in up to 25 words or visually.
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, says: “Watford is a town with so much to be proud of, from our much-loved landmarks and green spaces to our fantastic community organisations and charities. It’s brilliant that all of this will be celebrated on our very own Monopoly board.
“I’m sure there are plenty of people who could tell you in 25 words exactly why they love Watford, so I’d encourage residents to get involved for the chance to become a Very Important Player for the Day.
“I can’t wait to see the finished board revealed and discover which Watford favourites have made it onto those Monopoly famous squares.”
The MONOPOLY: Watford Edition game hits the shops in November – in time for Christmas 2026 – and will be available at all good toy and book stores in the town, as well as very widely online.
News of the customised board was announced earlier this year at the Palace Theatre. Since then, the Theatre, Cassiobury Park, the Town Hall and Vicarage Road have all been reported as likely to feature in the game.
At the time of the announcement the public was invited to suggest their Watford favourite landmarks and places to feature in the game.
Several Watford charities will also be featuring in the board .. and on their very own Monopoly real estate too.
